LUCIA CAECILIA
Lucia Caecilia is a music composer, pianist, and accompanist who started in the arts as a ballet dancer. Over the years, her passion for the language of music inspired her to pursue composition. She studied Music and Cognitive Science at the University of Delaware, then obtained her Masters in Music from New York University. She studied under Ron Sadoff, Greg Pliska, Irwin Fisch, Shruti Kumar, Jonathan Russell, and Jason Loffredo.
Lucia has worked with the music publishing company Carl Fischer in the music licensing and editorial departments, has accompanied cantors and a choir on piano at two churches, and has researched the neuroscience of music-associated memory.
She has worked on film projects and has scored for full orchestra, chamber ensemble, string quartet, and solo piano, among others. Her preferred composition style is one with a distinct melody, sweeping, and evocative.
